Why does my ex bf keeps insisting on buying me a christmas and bday gift?

We were together for almost 3 years. We have been broken up for about a year. We attend the same college which has been kinda hard. It seems like we are never on good terms but I still love this guy to death.
So anyway he keeps telling me he’s getting me a christmas gift and bday gift even though I didn’t ask. I doubt he’s trying to get back with me because I believe he is talking to other girls. But why would he do this if we are not on the best of terms?

looks like he has a piece of his heart set aside for you. maybe giving you a gift is his little way of staying in your life and in you mind. reconsider why you broke up and maybe you’ll see things different. his motives for buying you a gift don’t seem bad.

He probably likes you.Whatever might be his reasons, when a guy buys you gifts, you should accept them.On the other hand, if you are not on the best of terms, you should see if you are compatible with each other, because if you are not, you really should stay separated, and remain friends.

usually after u break up with ur partner , u feel like it was ur fault maybe u looked miserable or unhappy and it hit him cuz he thinks its his fault so he is buying u a present to compensate ur past or ur break up.
