I met this really great Swedish guy a few weeks back and now he has invited me to his housewarming party. I have no idea if it is a tradition in Sweden to give a housewarming gift, and if it is then what should I get him? I also would like to know if normally Swedes bring their own drinks to a party or does the host take care of that? I don’t know this guy very well so I’m kind of scared to ask him. All help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance

Well, I’m Norwegian, but I would guess that any Scandinavian would appreciate something in red as it’s a common, traditional accent color in Scandinavian households. No matter the ethnic background, it’s always nice to bring a bottle of wine to share to a housewarming party or as a host(ess) gift.
I know there are a couple Swedes who hang out here, so perhaps they will correct me if I am wrong and clue us in to the way things are done in their homeland.
