My hubsband is due to come home from a 15 month deployment in Iraq in a couple of weeks. The kids would like to get their daddy a gift and were thinking of going to the mall to shop around. They have NO IDEA what they want to get him, but they DO want to get him SOMETHING.
Our kids are 2, 6, 7, and 10.
Any ideas?

Try asking him, in a subtle way, what is something he has been missing and really looks forward to when he returns home (besides the obvious). When I came back from Kosovo and Bosnia what I really wanted was homed cooked meals and to see all my friends. Since he has been in military uniforms for such a long time, and to include the kids, how about they give dad a funny T-shirt or something like that.

I would try to get the kids to do some type of craft thing. Since they are young they should definitely have some fun with it. Also, if they make it, it will be more personal…..Hope this helps.

I suggest a new swimsuit, dark sunglasses, earplugs and a trip to a fun water park for the entire family.
