What is something I can make for a baby gift for a baby shower?

November 5, 2010 | In: New Born & Baby Gifts

I am really low on money and I didn’t realize but I have to go to a baby shower on Sunday. I am gonna have my mom crochett some booties and maybe a hat if she has time. But what else can I make. I am pretty crafty and I have a bunch of scrapbook stuff that I could use to make somthing. I don’t have the time to make something really large and extravagant, but I could make something pretty cute. Any Idea’s? It is for a boy.

A blanket (crocheted or the fleece ones with the knots around it)
A empty scrapbook with the baby’s name on it, and decorate the front
Sew up some kind of cute toy for the baby.

try the dollar tree for some cheap baby stuff…for only a dollar. By the way for my baby shower, a lot of my family members didn’t bring anything, but I didn’t care much because being there was enough, plus, there is always birthdays and holidays to give more gifts. Times are tough, if you cant afford it, you cant afford it.

A beautiful card and a picture frame that the mom can use to put a picture of baby. These will be great keepsakes for later on.

Gifts at $10 and below :
1. Hand or footprint kit. These are kits that have materials to imprint the baby’s hands or feet onto framed shadowboxes. Most kits are at $10.

2. Framed Cross-Stitch. For a personal touch, buy cross-stitch materials and sew the baby’s name and birth date on a rectangle piece of cloth. Have it framed for a lasting gift. If you are short of time, give her a short and sweet note written on a copy of the pattern to say, “gift is work-in-progress, will be done in time for his/ her birth.”
