I was wondering if you needed to buy your parents a gift for their anniversary... I thought you should, but I didnt understand why? Because, after all its initially ment just for them, the couple to celebrate their marriage day, etc. I was just curious...

my father passed away last week and we are sending out thank you notes, and we are wondering about this. we are obviously sending thank yous to people who stopped by, brought food etc, or sent a gift of money. but what about if they just sent a card?

Or would you only send a thank you if a gift is included?
