Now for something very different compared to most of the videos on my channel… I decided to record a game I have never ever played before, thus, this run is going to be entirely blind! What does this mean? Well, this means this will definitely NOT be a no-hit run, and there will likely be at least a few deaths since I have to make my way through the stages without any previous knowledge of what they are like. Kirby 64 is one of those games I have wanted to try for quite awhile… it does not emulate all that well, though, so I did not try it that way… but then Shagg decided to be quite generous this past Christmas and offered to send it to me via the virtual console as a Christmas gift. The game is very, very fun so I was quite thankful for the gift, and as something special I decided to go ahead and record my first time through the game. This Kirby game has a couple of things going for it to make it stand out from others… The first is the ability to actually COMBINE two powers to make a new one! Sometimes the results are great, other times they are just horrible, but it does give a lot of new variety to the powers. The other thing is the Chrystal Shards to collect in every stage. Each stage has 3 of them to collect, and they tend to get progressively harder to find as the game goes on. Since I do not know in advance how to collect them in each stage, I will be sure to cut out my blind stumbling and just show how I got the shard if I did not get it on my first time …

The reason that Dark Matter was after the crystal was not to capture it, but to destroy it; it’s one of the very few things with the power to purify Dark Matter-infested areas.

I LOVE the cutsences for this game! The animation is so fluid and it’s not stock animations like almost all other games at the time. It’s easily one of my favorite N64. I actually like it more than Mario 64 and Ocarina of time!

Everyone hold out their left hand if you think the fairy is cute;
Hold out your right one if you think Kirby is cute;
Together if you think both of them are cute.

@Sukuun
Colour, along with Humour, Theatre, Favourite, Faerie, etc are all the English versions of spelling them…Possibly Canadian too, they are the ‘original’ forms of the word

I enjoyed playing Kirby 64 several years back and it’s one of my favorite N64 games. The idea of combining two powers together is awesome.

If you want a big kaboom, combine rock and bomb. Kirby puts out some dynamite but you must crouch until it detonates or you’ll get hurt too.

i think this is the version where you can somehow combine different powers to create something new, like i know there’s one where you get a weapon similar to darth maul’s twin light saber weapon. i hope i get to see it.
