Is it bad etiquette to open a baby shower gift that was mailed to us before the baby shower?

The couple that sent the gift has RSVP’d that they will be attending our couples baby shower, but I am unsure if it is appropriate for me to open the gifts before the shower or if it would be better for me to wait until the shower. Can someone advise me on this? Thanks!

if the person is going to the shower then yes and if not then know becaeuse they will never know

Don’t worry about it, just open it. And even if they did end up coming, you could just tell them you got so excited and opened it a bit early and LOVE it! People don’t get offended by things like that, and if they do, they have way to much time on their hands.

I would wait until the shower and open it there whether they are there or not. But if you really can’t wait, you can discretely open it now and wrap it back up. I have done that lots of times and no one’s the wiser.
