How do you I present a birthday gift of money?
January 9, 2010 | In: Birthday Gifts
My best friend of 17 years is having a birthday dinner this weekend. She is turning 33. I asked her what she wanted as a gift and she said money so she can save up for a new cell phone. I plan on getting her a card or making one myself but don’t want to include cash. Is writing her a check more presentable and personal?
Any ideas on how to creatively present the gift? Also, what seems like a reasonable amount of money to gift her? I also said I would treat her to dinner.

Just a thought but for creativity, you could make an origami shape out of the bill maybe? Practise on a bit of paper of the same shape first though!

buy a magizine like cosmopolitan, or a book and insert cash in envelope and put in between pages inside.

Go to your local Bank, & get your Friend 33 of those shiny new gold $1 President Coins (that are SUPPOSED to be in Circulation) they have there…-& give them to Her in a nice cloth, draw-string bag !!! EVERY Woman loves a Gift of “Gold”… -And when your Friend sees THOSE- for a Moment, she’ll think she’s Rich !!!
-Well, at the very LEAST- she’ll be “Surprised”… -And that IS the “Idea”- Isn’t it ??!

Try to find out what kind of phone she was thinking of getting in casual conversation and then go to that particular Store and buy her a gift certificate. Making a personal card yourself is a great idea. Have a good time @ the party.

I once gave someone a card that was an oragami crane with a picture inside, and I folded a bill up with it, so when the crane was unfolded the money was showing.

You should give her the check inside a really nice birthday card. Somewhere on the car write something funny about her new cell phone like “I wanted to help you out so you can call me” $30-$40 seems fair enough for a best friend. Give her the card at her birthday dinner attached to a ballon, candy, or flowers.
