Do you think it would be okay to send my friend’s mom a gift for Mother’s Day? Her only child just died?

My friend got murdered a week and a half ago. He was his mother’s only child. Since Mother’s Day is coming up what would be an appropriate gift to send her? I was thinking of a certificate to get a facial? I plan on mailing her a card so it needs to be something that can fit in the card. Please let me know all your ideas. Thanks. (I saw her the day of his visitation & gave her flowers & I’ve also send her a sympathy card. He meant a lot to me & my family & his family are very close.)

Unless you give her gifts for mothers day regularly I would not recommend it. If you are giving her a gift because you always do and she is like a “second mother” to you, than I think it would be appropriate. Otherwise I would let it lie and give some room for healing. These things take time. sorry for both of your losses.
