Dad’s Big Adventure (an e-mail)

July 12, 2010 | In: Retirement Gifts

This is a story of my dad’s, sent to our family in e-mail, with pictures attached. I tried to keep it as clean, as possible, to preserve the context in which it was originally presented. The canoe was my dad’s retirement gift, to himself, and he loved to go out on various lakes in the area, whenever he had the opportunity.

VERY beautiful. I like that you just let it be what it is, but your presentation was wonderful. Never stop missing him. *sniff sniff* *hugs*

Well, you, and dad, were my inspiration, so I do have to say thank you! I’m glad I made this. We’re not just making videos for ourselves, this is a new form of preserving family memories.

Thank you. The video actually tells two stories, and you did get the essence of the second story. I, too, hope that his journey was as peaceful as this story. I miss him so much.

San Diego. There were a few different lakes that he loved to take his canoe out on.

I can’t take a lot of credit for the video. The words, and pictures are his, I just set them to music.

Very Cool slideshow. I didn’t catch where that was at, but it almost reminds me of a couple of flood pains I have been to in Panama, and also around Equador.

Thanks for sharing,
Steve

Aww, that was so beautiful, I almost cried. He did have a very beautiful way of telling stories and those stories will live forever as well as his essence. I’m so sorry about this hard day, if there is anything I can do let me know. I hope his journey to heaven was as peaceful as what he describes in these passages. HE was a very handsome man. Much love and prayers to you!

Excellent. I failed to mention the importance of the little canoe in my vid, but you did it so much better anyway. Very cool!
