Can you help w/suggestions for inexpensive, but thoughtful anniversary gift?

August 15, 2010 | In: Anniversary Gifts

Hi, trying to get ideas for some inexpensive gifts I could put together for my sister and brother-in-laws 2nd anniversary. I’m on an extreme tight budget, but want to put a basket together for them. I’ve already thought of home-made chocolate covered pretzels and a bottle of wine. They have a new born baby and I also thought of a night of babysitting coupon. I know there are a lot of creative minds out there… maybe you could suggest something different and cool? Thanks a bunch!!

Perhaps you could give them a picnic basket with a nice meal that you have cooked that they can re-heat, a bottle of wine, some candles and a box of chocolates and take their baby off them for the night so they can enjoy a romantic dinner?

Egyptian cotton linen spray from Bed Bath and Beyond made by Commonwealth Gardens with his and her pillow cases. I love this spray!!! 2nd anniversary gift is cotton. Hope this helps and if you do smell this spray….. I guarantee you will have to have some for yourself….

You’re on an extreme tight budget. Hopefully they will have many anniversaries. They won’t expect more than a card, because they will understand. If you must, you can fill the basket with can goods with the labels torn off. That way they can play the game of guess what’s for supper tonight? It’s fun when they can’t decide what they’re going to have. They just open one of the cans to help with the decision. Adds humour to their meal and solves the problem of deciding. You can decorate each can to make them more inviting. To make it funnier, get the strangest cans of food possible.

How about a bottle of wine or champagne, 2 glasses, some candles, bubble bath, choc covered cherries and a CD of romantic music?

How about some candles, maybe a good cookbook. You could buy a good cookbook, make the meal from there for them and give them the candles and cookbook. Take the baby off there hands for the night. Good luck!!
